Although at times during the year the editors threatened to leave space for doodling if reporters didn't hand in stories, the f Ns X SHE' GGLDE WAV cvfl' The job of turning a group of green reporters into professional journalists was successfully ac- complished by Mrs. Laurence Prendergast, the ad- visor. Veteran photographer Howard Tuwiner was joined by Robert Schwab and Paul La Rocque in working for picture perfection. The discovery of Helen Johnson and Evelyn Kissinger to join the long line of successful WAVE, cartoonists filled the last gap in the staff line-up. ln the spring several members of the Journalism Class attended the Columbia Scholastic Press Con- news-gatherers came through with their articles and averted the utragedyf, vention and afterwards, toured the HHerald Trib- une building.
