I Uiibe Svatsuma Class Prophecq Q5 3. Last night I pondered weak and weary, trying to write a class proph- ecyg but after many unsuccessful attempts I gave it up, and retired. During the night I had a most unusual dream- I was out seeing the many strangesights in China. Soon I came to the place where Aladdin, who possessed the wonderful magic lamp, lived. Since the African magician carried it off, Aladdin would not allow any one to take the magic lamp out of the castle. He asked me if I wished to see the genie of the lamp and ask it questions. As I had never seen a genie, I replied that it would be a great pleasure to me. I rubbed the magic lamp, and as the genie appeared it said, What do you wish? Dear genie, said I, I would be very grateful to you if you would re- veal to me the future of my classmates of the B. C. A. S. To my delight, the genie said, I will do as you wish. I listened breathlessly until he had finished saying the following: Kerney Terrell, who is now President of your class, will be governor of New York. He will manage the affairs of that state as capable as he has those of the class of '23. Charles Hilcher will be a famous lawyer, known throughout the country. Karl Stokes will be a poet, whose works will be read by the masses. I-Iis name will be foremost among the great American poets of the twentieth century. U Mae Terrell will smile her way through politics and in ten years be mayor of Los Angeles. Robert Lauder will be known as one of the great scientists. Marvin Jackson is to be an inventor of many useful electrical devices and machines, in fact-a second Edison. Thomas Steele, who is now called just plain 'Tom,' will in time to come, be known as Dr. Thomas L. Steele, M. D. He will specialize in brain diseases. I TWT' I-Terne Cole will, in years to come, produce masterpieces of art which cannot be excelled. A marked change will take place in Gladys Iohnsen, for she will soon love music better than basket-ball, and will become famous as an opera singer. And you will- just then the alarm clock rang, causing me to awake with a start. I did not forget my dream, however, but finished the genie's last sentence- And I shall write the prophecy of the class of '23. . LGRETTA SCHMALL. ,,i.nmi.l
