Text from Pages 1 - 104 of the 1954 volume:

DEDICATIO Twelve years ago, when members of this year's graduating class were starting to school in short pants and pigtails, little did they know that the new superintendent that year would stay right with them, guiding them all the way until they graduated from Bald Knob High School in April of 1954. That man, who came to Bald Knob as superintendent, coach, and math teacher 12 years ago, has made an enviable r e c ord during that short span. He has seen consolidation in. He has seenthe average daily attendance climb from 320 to well over 1, 200. He has built up the school's academic and athletic programs. He has instigated the addition of such things as vocational agriculture and home economics, voc ational guidance and counseling, the school hot lunch program, full-scale athletics, and the inauguration of fine school publications. He has built a new modern elementary school building, a home economics cottage, an agriculture building, a cafeteria, a well-equipped athletic stadium, and most recently, one of the finest and best e quipped high school -buildings in Arkansas. All this is part of a dream that has lasted through 50 years in school work for the man and his lovely wife. Their dream of helping in some way to guide the footsteps of children and young people has resulted in many thousands of young men and women in Arkansas knowing them as their friends- always interested in their former students, and always knowing that they have had a part in develop ing them as useful citizens. But at last, it is time for this man to take a well-deserved rest. And although, he will not act- ually leave any of us, he won't be here at Bald Knob High School next year--not working anyway. And so, it is to this man that we dedicate the 1954 annual. To a grand superintendent, a faithful friend, and a truly great man--MR. C.C, HUNNICUTT Mr. and Mrs. Hunnicutt a r e pictured above with a great source of pr ide -their eight grand children. HUNNICUTT The C, C, HUNNICUTT AUDITORIUM ----- This beautiful auditorium, one of the largest and finest to be found in any high school, was named in honor of our retiring superintendent at the close of school this year. nf' Nwdjkiawgngf R' ii ffm Sify' ere' f 41 CONTE TS DEDICATION. . .
