Although boys' sports, particular- ly football, may be entered into more generally by the student body as a whole, through participation as player or spectator, girls' sports, nevertheless, play an important part in the lives of the feminine population of any school. For instance: Take lflI.lEliN Vol.- vA'r'ri. Iii, so-called by her friends, has taken an active inter- est in all the societies pertaining to sports. Besides being president of the G,A.A., Iii was a mem- her of the Block B, and 'l'ri Y, Hoops, clear is liileen's mot- to, and once the ball is put into her hands you can be sure that it will be a basket for this hard- playing forward. Not only promi- nent in sports, lii's high schol- astic standing is evidenced hy mem- bership in the Honor Society, CSF., and Quill and Scroll. In publications, liileen served as re- porter, then editor, and finally student advisor of the Galleon, the highest honor any boy or girl can win in this department. Besides bas- ketball, liileen participated in ten- nis, archery, badminton and swim- ming .... livery term that basketball has been given as an after-school sport, lltliNl3 jormsorv was one of the first to show up. Taking the position of forward, there was no doubt of her ability to sink the ball. Wlieil not busy with this sport, lrene learned the art of placing a well-aimed tennis ball over the net. If a demonstration in these activities is needed, Irene is always glad to oblige .... If basketball isn't your game then ZILLDA Cos'rA and Auniuiv Wirr- ciioN areithe girlPtn 'scc. Zelda, vice president of Girls' Block B, an able assistant to Proxy Lois Hansen, believes in hitting the bull's-eye. Although much of her work has been done in archery in an attempt to out-shoot Cupid, Zelda has spent some time on the basketball courts .... Tripping the light fantastic may be a way of saying dancing, but it is very unlitting when referred to ice skating. Audrey Welclirwn -has learned the har' sway 'perha s, but nevertheless lear 'd to lt nd on her skates, and actually fi joy the sport. Not satislied with o e sport, A.udrey also acquired the funda- mentals of tennis. A member of the Block B, Audrey has done her part for Balboafxthletic Asso- ciation .... Splashing gaily in and out of a pool is limsra MlJNIiS'l'lEll'S idea of at perfect time. This miss claimed membership in the G.A.A. and Block B. Not only a strong fan of swimming, but of basket- ball, also, Elise has really taken to these sports like a duck takes to water, liguratively speaking. . . . Another water duck is Dolus Rizvizrro, who, hesicles'being on the Block, 'B, claims membership in the Honor Society and C.S.F. The jinx script looks good, jackie Jensen tells Julius Siri.
