Mrs. Lois Paski, who has been teaching at Bainbridge for nineteen years, attended Lynfield College and graduated from Washington State Universtiy. Before coming to Bainbridge she taught at La Center High School, Ilwaco High School, Eilison Jr. High, and Bothell High School. In May, 1964, Mrs. Paski was the winner of the Sears, Roebuck Award for Vocational Home Economics Education in the state of Washington. As a Home Economics instructor and advisor to the Home Economics Club, Mrs. Paski has spent many unselfish hours working with the girls of Bainbridge High School. We all have profited from such a fine faculty member. This is Mr. Tom Paski's twentieth year at Bainbridge High. A graduate of Eastern Washington State College, he previously taught at Ellison Jr. High and in Wenatchee. Here at Bainbridge he has taught various social study courses, P. E. , and health. But to most students, he is our COACH, Mr. Paski has successfully led our basketball team through the years, while also helping to develop good sportsmanship and spirit among the students. CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS to two outstanding people! ! ! ! A Yea r's Story Q i SEPTEMBER Spartan Mike Wilson and Coach Bob Rosi watch from the side-lines. NI FH If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on youg If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too, If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise, If you can dream--and not make dreams your master If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim, If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two impostors just the same, If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools, If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss, If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: Hold on , If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touchg If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt youg If all men count with you, but none too much, If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run-- Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son! We have tried to break away from traditional ways and capture life at Bainbridge in a more realistic and meaningful way. We have used the song CAST YOUR FATE TO THE WIND to express the moods and emotions of the administration, students, organizations, and sports. Since we are trying something new, the layout will be just as new to you as it will be to us. There may be misspelled words, misplaced pictures, uneven margins and pictures. We hope you will bear with us and if a mistake should affect you directly, we are truly sorry! I I As the staff planned and arranged this annual we tried to capture moments that will help you to remember the special times of this year such as homecoming, excitement of basketball games, the dances, football games and other events of the year. We have tried to provide you with a book that would serve as a scrap- book of the events' of the '66-'67 year. This annual would not be possible without the help and co-operation of many individuals. I would like to express my sincere thanks to: R. Wallace Pischel, Inc. for the printing and publishing of this book. . . Mr. Burt Durham for advice .... Mr. W. Smith from Hudson Studios for taking pictures .... Mr. Frederick Guenther for taking time to schedule pictures and help .... Mrs. Eve Vollers for paying our bills and always ready with a smile of encouragement .... the advertisers who helped pay for the cost of the book .... Mrs. Norma Thompson for providing information for the dedication page .... faculty members for bearing with us during all the interruptions .... my parents and staff members parents for helping us to meet our deadlines. . . . the members of the staff for all the time they put in and a job well done .... last, but by no means least I would like to thank our advisor, Miss Lodoen Purdy for the all the encouragement and constant pushing she gave us when we were not working, which helped us through the year. Everyone of you will be a memory I will never forget and I consider each one of you one in a million. Olivia Omoto SPARTAN AGEIS, EDITOR 1966-1967
