Captain R. J. Hanks, USN N l Captain Robert J. Hanks was born in Marysvale, Utah, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1945. He was designated an aviator on completion of the course at Naval Air School, Pensacola, Florida in 1950. He is a graduate of the Naval War College Command and l Staff School H9601 and Naval Warfare Course 09665. Captain Hanks reported to Destroyer Squadron THIRTEEN from duty as Deputy Director ' for Nuclear Planning Affairs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, International Securit Affairs. Sigce graduation from the Academy his duty assignments have been the USS ST.
