ONE MOMENT, HE MAY HAVE A PIPE WRENCH IN HIS HAND, IN ANOTHER. IT MAY BE A DRILL MOTOR OR AN ACETYLENE TORCH. HE IS PRIMARILY CONCERNED WITH THE REPAIR OF STRUCTURAL AND MECHANICAL SYSTEMS. E DIVISION Electrical division (E). is comprised of Electrician ' s Mates (EM ' s) and Interior Com munications electricians (ICs). EMs provide electrical lighting throughout the ship. They operate the tool issue room and insure that all portable electrical tools are safety checked. The ICs are responsible for internal communications throughout the ship. They are also responsible for the ship ' s gyro, alarms, intercom stations, shore and sound- powered phones. Overall. E ' division is a service repair division possessing a high degree of initiative and technical knowledge to insure the efficient electrical operation of the ship. « f -5 ' ?
