Lieutenant Commander Thomas S. ALTHOUSE assumed his duties as Executive Officer in Guam, Marianas lslands during BADCrER's second deployment. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1962 He served at sea on USS STODDARD QDD-556J, as Commanding Officer of USS EXCEL QMSO-4395, and as Aide and Flag Lieutenant for Commander U.S. SEVENTH Fleet. He has served ashore at the U.S. Naval Academy and received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Ordnance Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. LC DR ALTHOUSE wears the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V, and numerous unit, service, and campaign medals.

He graduated from Worcliester Polytechnic Institute in 1960. A year and a half later, he received his Commission after OCS training He has served on USS LLOYD THOMAS fDD-7645, USS STICKELL CDD-8885, and as Executive Officer on USS HAMMERBERG KDE-10155. He has served as Aide and Flag Lieutenant to Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla TWO, and was also assigned to the NAVY,s Strategic Plans and Policy Division in the Pentagon.
