Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs ! Now, thirty-two years later, on April 17, 1979, we celebrate Founders ' Day in a different way. Founders ' Day at Babson, with its theme of entrepreneurship, is a day of celebration and renewal - celebration of past accomplishments and renewal of our commit- ment to the futrue. We recognize the importance of the entrepre- neurial spirit in our free enterprise system. We do this, by having several distinguished entrepreneurs enstated into Babson ' s Distin- guished Academy of Entrepreneurs. We have the opportunity to meet these people, talk with them, and gain insight to a world which some of us may soon enter. Founders ' Day is a day which many of us, especially those involved with the planning and escort- ing, will not soon forget.

In a memorable Found- er ' s Day speech, Mr. Babson used a corn- stalk to prove his point. What ' s Founders ' Day All About? The fourth annual celebration of Founders ' Day was held in Richard Knight Auditorium on the morning of Friday, November 10, 1950. The avowed purpose of Founder ' s Day, the first of which was held in November, 1947, is to highlight and commemorate the progress of the three Babson Institutions. This is the tradition in which Founders ' Day began. Roger Babson would be the honored guest, and now gone songs like the Founders ' Day Song and the Babson Hymn would be sung throughout the celebration by the Babson Glee Club. Roger Bab- son ' s speeches would touch on his family ties with the Babson community, or his relationship to different companys. Students would listen attentively to Mr. Babson ' s words of wisdom.
