ALPHA DE LTA SIGMA Warren Luke hands President Kriebel S5,000. This past year has been a rewarding and eventful one for the Brothers of Alpha Delta Sigma. Returning with twenty-six Brothers last September, A.D.S. was presented with the top chapter award for the Eastern Region and was rated third overall nationally among the fifty-two chapters in our contingency. Brother Gus XVilson organized a football team which upset A.K.Psi and came very close to beating Delta Sig for our first sports victory in five years. The Fraternity academic average enabled the Brothers to garner the coveted Scholarship Bowl for the fourth straight year, a proud possession of Alpha Delta Sig- ma. The fall pledge class capped a successful pledge period with the annual orphanis party. Some forty children were present to receive gifts from Santa fTim Martienl Claus and to delight in ice cream and cookies furnished by the school. Last November, Alpha Delta Sigma achieved a goal it had been working on for a long time. The Fraternity helped to raise a sum of 35,000 to go to- wards the fund for the new Student Center. As a result of achieving this goal, A.D.S. was assigned the North Lounge of Park Manor for use as a Fraternity Room. This was a proud accomplishment . . . President Steve Vantine receives the Scholarship Bowl for A.D.S. to make it four years in a row! . . . for the Brothers, because the idea of organiza- tions participating in the fund raising was initiated by Alpha Delta Sigma. Alumni for years to come will be proud to recognize the bronze letters of Alpha Delta Sigma on the door at the north end of the new Student Center. The winter term was highlighted by an excellent pledge class of twenty-one men, who provided plenty of excitement for the Brothers. On the social scene, A.D.S. occupied the Executive Penthouse Suite and two accompanying floors of the Holiday Inn of Cam- bridge for the festivities of VVinter Weekend which included an open bar and a champagne party for the graduating seniors. The spring term provided the atmosphere for the annual Robert Murray Memorial Advertising Contest under the chairmanship of Brother Tom Suydam, and Brother Bob Hervey guided next year's advertising blotter toward its final stages of com- pletion. Vice President Everett W. Stephens spoke to the Fraternity about the future development of Babson as many Brothers volunteered to start a new Student Development Committee for the next student project. Yes, Alpha Delta Sigma has again demon- strated its position of active leadership and participa- tion in all phases of Babson extracurricular life.
