Luke, L. Dearborn, I. Cote, M. McCoy, G. jacques-Dalcroze, R: Heller, E. Meshberg, K. Aldrich, T. Smith, Coach. The varsity golf team under coach Tom Smith enjoyed another highly successful season, closing with a ten win and six loss record. Start- ing with a second place finish in the annual Bab- son Lid-Lifter Tournament, the golfers had con- siderable success against teams from schools with far larger enrollments. The Lid-Lifter Tourna- ment, played early in April on Babson's home course, the Wellesley Country Club, was won by Nichols College for the second year in a row on the basis of both match and medal play. At the conclusion of the season, a five man team composed of upperclassmen traveled to Portland, Maine, for the New England Intercol- legiate Golf Association Tournament where the best collegiate golf teams of New England com- pete. After a slow start the first day, Babson rallied on the second to finish sixteenth, behind such schools as Harvard. Graduation will not take its toll as in years past, for Guy Jacques-Dalcroze, a two-handicap player from Switzerland, will be the only player leaving via this route. With a group of players such as Les Dearborn, Emil Meshberg, Rick Hel- ler, Bob King, Mike McCoy, and Warren Luke returning and many new talents expected, the ,67 season will prove to be Babsonls sixth con- secutive successful year in golf.

Brandeis Clark Holy Cross Bates Tufts Bentley Colby Stonehill Under the tutelage of Coach Ralph Cham- bers, Babsonis tennis team had a successful season, although posting a four and five win-loss record. This season was highlighted by the play of Captain Chris Brooks at lst singles where he has won eight matches and lost one. Steve Kroll at 2nd singles had a six and three record playing as a freshman against strong competition from juniors and seniors from other schools. Steve Wood at 3rd and sometimes 4th singles has made the difference in many matches this year with a five and four record as a freshman. Since Brooks is the only graduating member of the team, Coach Chambers will have a fine core of players returning mostly from the fresh- man ranks. Juniors Mickie Krupp and Carl Todt along with freshmen William Eber, jo Maak, Bob Patkin, Steve Wood, and Steve Kroll will be giving it their best to achieve another success- ful season.

Editor's Note This small space set aside for the editor to evidence his appreciation of the efforts put forth by many hardly does justice to those men who have given so much of them- selves in order to make the BABSONIAN- 1966, a reality. Editor Iohn Ring deserves to be com- plimented on a job well done. Having taken over the editor's pen in January, I would have been immensely more handicapped had John and his staff not begun developing the format. All of the staff deserve congratulations on their accomplishments, but, as usual, a few excelled in their efforts to make this year's book the finest ever produced. My managing editor, Charlie Cutler, was re- sponsible for sharing the burden of picture quality, editorial content, and technical lay- out. The financial affairs of the BABSONIAN -1966, were efficiently handled by Alan Oak. I can think of no-better way to start Charlie Mills on his way towards a success- ful 1967 BABSONIAN than to assure him of the aid of the extremely capable business manager of the BABSONIAN-1966. My sincerest thanks to all my student editors, especially Rich Carlson, Brian Baker, Bob Vanni, and Iohn Cook. I would like to show my gratitude to Kib Roulette. There are inevitable problems which will arise in any production of this magnitude. Mr. Roulette, the local repre- sentative for Bradbury, Sayles, O'Neill, Inc., has made our working relationship a most pleasant association. Kib,s utmost co-opera- tion and deep concern for the quality of the BABSONIAN-1966, has had a definite affect on the efficacy of my takeover. All too often the ever present admin- istrative and faculty aid are taken for grant- ed at Babson Institute. In order to pay tri- bute to these vital segments of B. I., I would like to voice a heartfelt Thank Youi' to Mr. Leonard Wood who is largely responsible for the quality and quantity of the pictures in this book and to Mr. Hubert A. Mann, our faculty advisor. T. W. S.
