D. Fuller, W. Luke, R. Finley, M. Potter, G. Manning, C. Todt, M. Bercovitch, A. Hober, M. Frank. Under the dedicated leadership of Presi- dent Michael Potter and faculty advisor Dr. Wallace Mors, the American Finance As- sociation has functioned as a small but flexible unit available to all who have a sincere interest in finance and investments. This year the association heard many interesting speakers from local brokerage and financial institutions. A New York field trip was also offered to members, and a seminar was held on Careers in Financef, In the future we wish to expand the as- sociation's membership in hopes of attracting more prominent speakers. We pride our- selves in having the most dedicated mem- bership since our organization exists solely for them and their interests. AMERICAN FINANCE ASSOCIATION YOUNG REPUBLICANS D. Wisentaner, S. Sloan, D. Fuller, T. Lessard, F. Wright, E. Kling, R. Finley, P. Rappaport. This year the Young Republicans Club attempted to explore the nature of Republi- canism by having small informal meetings, at which some aspect of the Republican party was discused. These discussions in- cluded not only current party problems, but we also went into the past for an analysis of the defeat of Mr. Coldwater. Although much discussion centered about the possibility of bringing Republican speakers of prominence to the campus, it was decided by the mem- bers that it would be best to have meetings that would serve to inform them on views of the party as a whole, rather than the opinions of one man. In the future, however, it is hoped that we will be able to encourage speakers to come to Babson.

In a meeting of the Faculty Committee on athletics held on April 30, 1966, the com- mittee gave its sanction for a Lacrosse Club to operate this spring. The members of the committee, which includes Dean Staake, Dr. Carpenter, Mr. Brown, Mr. Smith and Mr. Petersen, were of the opinion that a Spring spectator sport such as lacrosse would be beneficial for the Babson community. Donald Matthews, Ozwald Hodges and Tom Morgan, who represented the Lacrosse Club at this meeting, presented the club's platform for sanctioning the sport as a club for the Spring Term. One of the eleven points included in their proposal was that there was approximately 17 men interested in lacrosse who have had experience and an equal amount of men who are without ex- perience. After a short deliberation, the Faculty Committee decided that a lacrosse would be an excellent idea, and that if the club had a successful season they would reconsider the club proposal and possibly give the club varsity status for the 1967 season.
