SAILING f 'X ff' , Interest and spirit ran high among the members of the Babson sailing team as they attended to a rigorous schedule of meets in New England during the fall and spring. Lack of experience and aca- demic probation handicapped the group to an ex- tent. The commodoreis chair was taken over by Steve Purdy, who replaced Eldon MacLeod, a member of the victorious McMillan Cup Team, Don Seigal was elected secretary, and jordan Estra, terasurer. First Row: D. Seigal, S. Purdy, President. Scott Stevens, Charlie Miner, Iohn Ring, Fred Wright, and two Bermudians, Rick Farrington and Hugh Pritchard, kept Babson in contention at many of the New England intercollegiate sailing events. The number of freshmen on the '66 team and im- provements made to the equipment and practice schedule raise hope for an excellent 1967 season. The coveted McMillan Cup, won by Babson in 1964, and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Trophy are future goals. Second Row: I. Caulder, F. Wright, R. Farrington, D. Stiller, E. Stanley, W. Glenn, C. Miner, D. Leeds Third Row: I. Intrator, H. Pritchard, J. Ring, E. Kling, P. Crowell, R. Vanni, W. Yeo, R. Evans. CLUB

LACROSSE CLUB First Row: I. Gould, J. Lambert, T. Morgan, W. Steele, S. Jennings, W. Deegans, Second Row: B. Morrison, T. Saint, F. Churbuck, I. Rowland, I. Miksch, R. Little, Coach. In a meeting of the Faculty Committee on athletics held on April 30, 1966, the com- mittee gave its sanction for a Lacrosse Club to operate this spring. The members of the committee, which includes Dean Staake, Dr. Carpenter, Mr. Brown, Mr. Smith and Mr. Petersen, were of the opinion that a Spring spectator sport such as lacrosse would be beneficial for the Babson community. Donald Matthews, Ozwald Hodges and Tom Morgan, who represented the Lacrosse Club at this meeting, presented the club's platform for sanctioning the sport as a club for the Spring Term. One of the eleven points included in their proposal was that there was approximately 17 men interested in lacrosse who have had experience and an equal amount of men who are without ex- perience. After a short deliberation, the Faculty Committee decided that a lacrosse would be an excellent idea, and that if the club had a successful season they would reconsider the club proposal and possibly give the club varsity status for the 1967 season.
