NEWMAN CLUB Material wealth comforts the body, but only learning, understanding, and discussion aids and expands the spirit. It is this goal that has guided the Newman Club activities for the Roman Catholic students at Babson. Wfith help of our executive committee, including Van Martin, Jim Somppi, Tom Lessard, and Bob Vanni, and our committee chairmen, Beesom Haile and Bernie Higgins, we set up a calendar of activities that were of interest and worth to our members. The Newman Club, working in conjunc- tionl with the other religious organizations succeeded in regaining the use of the Chapel in Park Manor for our exclusive use for meetings and services. This year we were fortunate enough to arrange for masses on campus, a tradition we hope will continue and expand. Our speaker program has been arrived at by bringing knowledgeable persons on cam- pus to lecture and lead discussions on both religious and secular subjects. Father Rover, addressed our group speaking on Love in Modern Literature. In the spirit of ecu- menism, the four campus religious clubs invited Richard Cardinal Cushing to address the student body this winter. Providence, however, seemed not to be on our side, since all our plans and preparations were rendered useless by an unscheduled un- welcomed snow storm. This year, the Newman Club began a Sunday afternoon film series, which covered a broad spectrum of topics from religion to sociology to history. Also, under the line guidance of our Chaplain, the club's library was broadened. Though our program was a modest one, we hope it will initiate renewed interest and involvement of the students in the campus religious organizations. With the warm, most welcomed help of our Chaplain, Father F itzsimmons, we have developed programs and objectives for the future, that will assure success. D. Wisentaner, N. Towle, R. Parent, R. Pagnini, F. Luciano, S. Craine, S. Salomon, J. Somppi, V. Martin, T. Lessard R. Vanni, President.

The Business Economics Society, one of Babson's oldest organizations, again enjoyed a rewarding and successful year. Still a growing organization, the B.E.S. continued several of its traditional yearly programs such as the annual trip to the U.N., and expanded into new areas of interest to its membership. After the glory of graduation passed and took with it some of our most active members, we found ourselves with depleted ranks and sans a president. It fell to our new oflicers: President Michael Krupp, Vice President John Basner, Secretary David Krech, and Treasurer Fred Jean to polish our tarnished image. Fall term was devoted to conducting a successful membership drive, and revising the constitu- tion. With this solid foundation and willing members, we looked to 1966's winter term with enthusiasm. The winter term was highlighted by a field trip to New York. Our members, some of whom spent the weekend in New York, met on Monday at the U.N. for a tour and conferences. The termis speaker list was headed by Mr. Richard Long, a stock broker, who at our open meeting addressed the group on The Future of the Stock Marketf, Spring term found our members scurrying between the Boston Stock Exchange, Carlingis Brewery, and the U.S. Army Natick Labora- tories on field trips. A speaker from the John Birch Society rounded out this semesteris activi- ties. This year was indeed rewarding and success- ful, and for it we especially wish to thank Dr. Genovese who helped our executive committee coordinate activities. After the installation of eighteen new members and a new slate of oflicers, the club looks forward to an exciting year of continued growth and service.

WESLEY SOCIETY The Babson Chapter of the VVesley Society for Protestant Stu- dents was founded this year by Stephen Craine, who was ably as- sisted by Brian Baker and Craig Fuller. The purpose of the organi- zation has been to bring the Protes- tant students of different faiths closer together. In keeping with this, the Society has maintained no specific religious practices through- out the year, but rather welcomed all. Several new programs have been begun by the VVesley Society, which includes, first a speaker series. In conjunction with the other three re- ligious organizations, our club se- cured an acceptance to speak from Richard Cardinal Cushing whose talk was unfortunately cancelled due to a snow storm. It is, however, the quality of its speakers that the Wesley Society wishes to maintain. Next, a series of comparative reli- gion programs has been instituted whereby members of the Society at- TPFT SINAI CLUB Since its inception in 1959, the Sinai Club has become an active contributor to the social and cultural climate of Babson. The club prospered this year under the administration of President Steve Salomon and the executive staif consisting of Vice President Steve Wolf, Secretary Marvin Could, and Treasurer William Brenner. The Sinai Club con- tinued its seventh year as the center of activity for jewish students on campus. Membership this year reached an all time high. Arrangements were made for transportation to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. A record number of aBagels and Lox breakfasts were served in the Fo'c,sle on Sunday mornings throughout the school year. These will be remembered as the high points of the club's activities. The club is looking forward to a larger membership and greater partici- pation in religious activities under the leadership of the new president, Marvin Gould, in the coming year. First Row: D. As a public service to the campus, the Society participated in the cleaning of the Babson Chapel, putting it in working order for the use of the religious organizations. In the coming years, the VVeslev Society hopes to carry on its various pro- grams, and also hopes to be able to do more with the organizations, not only on the Babson campus but in the throughout Eastern Massachusetts. other religious various schools
