Hamlow Wins 500 The APC men ' s basketball team fin- ished the 1980-81 season with a record of 20 wins and 18 losses. The most important victory was Coach Hamlow ' s 500th coaching victory. Before the season Coach Hamlow had a few goals for the team. We would like to win 20 games, win the NAIA District 3 championship, and play in the National Christian College Tournament. All of these goals were reached including his 500th coaching victory. The cougars were led by junior cen- ter Mitch Lebron. Mitch led the Cou- gars in point (701), average (18.9), field goals (269), field goal % (.667), and rebounds (8.6) average. Mitch was picked Honorable Mention All- American, and was chosen as second team all NCCT. Larry Shelton also had a very fine sea- son, Larry finished second in both scoring and rebounding. Larry aver- aged 14 points and 5.2 rebounds a game. After winning his 500th victory Coaph Hamlow was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame during half-time of the NCCT championship game.
