the topic of discussion. Record sales were down a little in America however many students still purchased at least one record a month. Some of the favorites were Barbra Streisand, la ckson Browne Kenny Loggins, Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond. As for groups; Air Supply hit the top of the charts with their hit song I ' m All Out of Love. Some people were into the hard rock of AC DC while others got into the new fad of New Wave music. One of the more popular new wave songs was sung by the Vapors and that was I Think I ' m Turnmg Japanese. An advertisement for The Howling shows the popularity of scarey movies. The Covina Theatre shows its double feature of the week. The Covina offered one of the best bargains in town. You could see two movies for 99(S. All of these movies, songs, and stars helped to balance out the studying and relieve tension in many students ' minds. Movies, Stars Song 5Q Student Life SZ

Movies Stars, Song The Fox theatre marquee displays many choice movies during the year for those students who had the money and or transportation. The display case at the Sanborn theatres shows some of the popular mov- ies of 1981. Movies, Stars, and Song; somehow almost every part of the social life evolved around these three things. When there was nothing else to do, and excitement on campus was at an all time low there was always a movie to catch, T.V. to watch or if all else failed you could stay home and listen to the stereo. Some of the popular movies of 1981 were the Blue Lagoon, 9 to 5, The Howling, Empire Strikes Back, Any Which Way You Can, Flash Cordon, and Ordinary People. Some of the stars to see were Paul Newman, Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton and America ' s new sex symbol Brooke Shields. These people provided entertainment not only on the motion picture screen, but on the T.V. also. Brooke Shields and her Calvin Klein jean commercials were often 38 Movies, Stars Song Student Life
