College is not just learning and studying, it also means that you have to clean your own room. Mike Gabriel kicks back after a hard day in school. :»t» - ' t.v ' -. . Dorm Life ' ' The Ultimate Experienced When you first move on campus there is a sense of lone- liness, but as time goes on, the emptiness, like magic, dis- appears. You meet and become involved with those who are in the same living areas. PC ' s and LAC ' s all do their part in helping students feel needed and wanted by planning special events. Even dorm raids help students feel accepted. One thing that is soon discovered by each per- son is that all the joy, laughter, and anxiety that is experi- enced is simply all a part of Dorm Life. students Look for Their Mission During World Awareness Weel January 26-30 saw the Third Annual World Awareness week and nightly Missions seminar. Dr. Ted Ward, Director of curriculum develop- ment at Michigan State University was the daytime speaker. After an International potluck and the film Z, Ward talked daily about human suffering and world condi- tions. His concern was that the Christian College Community become involved in the real world. The evening sessions started with a course on cross-cultural communi- cations and ended with specifics on the challenge of summer of short-term overseas experiences. Thirty missionary agencies with their representatives were on cam- pus for the week. Students had to interview one of them, read a book and attend all sessions, day and night for the coveted A in the one unit seminar. Displays showing mission organizations are seen in UTCC. Frank Riley shows interest in one of the many displays on missions. Dr. Ted Ward speaks on world conditions during World Awareness Week. 34 Activities
