How Do People Study? Here at Azusa Pacific College, people try various methods of study. It ' s not unusual to find people doing some last minute homework in the Snack Bar or even during Chapel time. Some people tried studying in the Library if they needed the extra pri- vacy. And just to be different, some folks tried studying in their rooms. Even more common were the people who broke social norms by not study- ing at all. )ust as commonplace as seeing people studying their books intently, was seeing people intently studying the game of pool. Playing a game of ping pong is just as impor- tant as finishing the chapter in a Chemistry book to some people. It ' s surprising how creative one can get when the word is out about a special at Fosters. Regardless of the method of study, it ' s not the appearance but the outcome that counts. COMe 70 7?y cof er sjo Af us in ri i Noel Stey, a Nursing major, made good use of her precious time by study- ing in the Library. During Finals Week, many people used various methods for study, includ- ing Cram Nites, which were held in the Snack Bar. As the pressure of homework got too tense, people like Paul Santa Cruz and )eff Herringshaw took up a different pastime, mamly throwmg Mark Casey into the pond. 26 How Do People Study? Under the direction of Mrs. Ginger Wallace many hours of preparation were put in. -Three days prior to the Dinner Rally the campus began buzzing with activity. Faculty, staff, and students began setting up chairs, tables, and platforms. Finally the big night came. The guests arrived and the festivities began. The evening included- live entertainment by the musical groups along with personal testimonies by faculty, staff. and students. Dr. Stan Newell, former ARC student body president, was awarded the alumnus of the year award. Dr. Newell is currently one of the leading foot specialists in the country. The night was brought to a close by the tallying of the donations given by the many guests. When the smoke had cleared the grand total was $662,700.00. All the hard work that had been put in by those involved with Dinner Rally was greatly appre- ciated and well worth it. One of the thousands of guests present for Dinner Rally pays close attention to the words of one of the student testimonies. Jerry Vallotton tries his hand at serving. 28 Dinner Rally Student Life
