The Closing of a Year And so came the close of another year at Azusa Pacific College. But what made this year different than any other year? The people. Each one had given of himself to make the year a little better. New friendships had been built; people had strived not only as individuals but as groups. The volleyball, football, track, baseball, tennis, soccer, basketball and Cross- country teams had reached new heights in their levels of competition. They had surpassed any team in the history of the school. Concert choir was chosen to record their music and sing at Music Califor- nia something no other APC choir had done. Students had grown academically. Many received national honors such as Who ' s Who in American Colleges and Universities. The class of 1981 was not afraid. They looked for new and exciting things such as when 30 students learned how to skydive. No it wasn ' t an assignment from any class. It was a decision to see how far they could stretch themselves. It was a time to grow. Phil Powell takes time to chat with some friends after chapel. Trying to get just the right shot is the photographer for the Pro- claimed Evan Lauer smiles as he takes a picture of himself. The cross on the hill is a symbol of what comes first at APC.
