Marsnourn Liorary: A Place of Refuge MarshburnMemorial Library proved to be a place to socialize, study and be frustrated. It was a place to seek ref- uge from the dorm noise and get down to serious studying. However once you were in there your friends would join you and the talking would soon turn to laughs. Just about this time everyone ' s favorite librarian would stop by to say, I can hear you clear in the next room. If you don ' t be quiet you ' ll have to leave. Some stu- dents were sure this was the extent of her vocabulary. Frustration often sets in when trying to find books for a report. The Marsh- burn Expansion Project hadn ' t expanded quite enough and many students found themselves using Cit- rus ' library. However during finals week APC ' s dent uses one of the many cubicles ■one students found that the cubi- er distractions. library was quite convenient with their special late hours. Library stuclymg is indeed a chal- lenge! Shown here are the always friendly library staff. Socializing was a common thing to do instead of studying. Students often brought their books with them with the ilent to study but just never seemed to get around to using lem. j j Academics

The Counseling Center and Career Guidance is under the direction of Esther Cochrane. It offers a wide variety of opportunities ranging from where to find work to how to dress for a job interview. One of the more popular features of the guidance center was the job bulletin. This bulletin board provided students with a list of job opportunities in the San Gabriel Valley that had been reported to Azusa Pacific. The center also offered many workships ranging from time management to more popular ones like how to study for a test. Also on file were books on how to prepare a resume These books were especially helpful to graduating seniors looking for jobs in the respective majors. Weeding through some job opportunities is the Director of the Center Esther Cochrane. Career Guidance and Counseling Center Staff. Esther Cochrane, Ann Martin, Jan Melees and Gar Cropser. Making Classes Come to Life Need a camera to shoot the upcom- ing baseball game? Co to the Media Center. The latest video and camera equip- ment was made available to all stu- dents. Also available was a tape duplicator so you could make a copy of your friend ' s Kenny Loggins album without paying retail price. And if your tape happens to get eaten by your tape deck the Media Center will splice it for you. The Media Center was also responsi- ble for delivering film to classrooms and setting up all P.A. systems for basketball games. It was quite clear that without APC ' s effecient Media staff our classrooms would be a lot duller and our sport- ing events a lot quieter. Irene Robinson, Steve Thompson and Rob Koch. Mike Wilson and Chris Pumphrey show why some films and tapes never made it to the classrooms in time to be shown.
