Julie Tweed Crowned Queen at Les Femmes On October 24, 1980 a number of the Azusa Pacific College students attended the annual homecoming banquet Le ' Femmes. It was held at the M; ' :iott Hotel in Newport Beach. The master of ceremonies for the event was Tim Caffney. After dinner the moment everyone was anxiously waiting for arrived. Julie Tweed was crowned Homecoming Queen by last year ' s Queen, Nancy Johnson. The featured entertainment was the well-known Christian vocalist Reba Rambo. 1980 Queen Julie Tweed crowned by 1979 Queen Nancy Johnson. Princess Jenny Bicker with her escort Cree McCook. Homecoming Week Climaxed The 1980 Homecoming activities came to a close with the exciting win over the University of San Diego. Many alumni were present at the game, and earlier in the mornmg the first annual Marvin F. Mardock Fun Run was held. Throughout the day our Cougar football players main- tained an action-packed game and dominated the opponents. Adding to the general excitement in the air was the introduction of the 1980 Home- coming Court at halftime. The home- coming game was mdeed a highlight, and will always be remembered in APC ' s history. Coach Dean Karnoski tells his defensive unit that he doesn ' t want to hear any excuses for missing blocks against San Diego. Expert blocking is shown by )im Beatty as run- ning back. Rod Martin advances 15 yards. The Homecoming court was once again dis- played at half-lime. The court consisted of Beth George, )enny Bicker, Nancy lohnson. Queen Julie Tweed, Shirlene McDugald and Beth Whitelock.
