Jeff Wareham Sophomore Karen Walker Freshman Terree Walton junior mm i A number of our students had the opportunity to expe- rience what has been refer- red to as The Second Best Thrill. Yes, it appears as if skydiving is here to stay! Scott Rosenberger and Dave Pearson, two experienced jumpers, were responsible for coordinating the program in which over thirty students participated . Through three hours of classroom training and three hours of ground school, the tension mounted until the students became obsessed with the desire to make their first jump. What ' s it like to leap from a rumbling DC-3 into 3,000 feet of air? Outrageous, Terrify- ing, and just plain Fun, only come close to describing the feeling the jumpers had when they finally touched solid earth again. His name is Alex Omar Miranda Miran and he is a sophomore here at APC. Alex was born in Asuncion, the capitol city of Paraguay, but he has lived in the United States for the past two years. Alex had plan- ned to attend med school in Paraguay but due to political prob- lems his scholarship was revoked. As a result, Alex came to Cali- fornia to pursue his studies, and he has no regrets. The many friendships Alex has developed are a vital part of his life today. Also special to Alex are the christian aspects of APC, and the opportunities for involvement. He is on the security force in addition to being an active member of the soccer team. Alex ' s major field of study is chemistry and biology, although he is not sure about his career plans.
