Cafeteria Food Wasted Over 500 people pass through the cafeteria lunch line on a typical weekday afternoon — each contributing to a surprisingly large amount of food waste. Cafeteria dinner cook Carl Lathrum reports that approximately 100 pounds of food are prepared each meal, and a good 25 pounds winds up in the trash! Of course, this percentage varies, depending on the yummy entree choices and the energy level of its partakers (RE: APC ' s infamous food fights). Nevertheless, students see the cost of this great waste on their monthly school bills. Carl and the rest of the cafeteria staff hope that students » I will be aware of this costly problem and make a conscientious effort to control food waste. Bachelor Survival atA.P.C. What happens when you cross two crazy bachelors with a Trinity apartment at A.P.C.? What you ' ve cre- ated is a disaster ' Anyone who has visited Phil Bravo and Evan Lauer ' s apartment this year knows what I mean, lust visiting these two is an experience. Entering the front door, you are lucky if you can wade your way through all kinds of garbage to find a place to sit dovk n. Carpet on the floor? I ' m not sure if there is carpet or not. It is covered with a conglomeration of pillows, clothes, newspapers, popcorn — yes even an old banana peel. Phone ringing? No problem! )ust grab the cord and follow it along until you find the receiver. It ' s there somewhere! Evan and Phil recently celebrated their bi-semester laundry day. They say they probably won ' t have to do laundry again all year. It ' s quite ironic that their apartment is about ten feet away from the laundry room — maybe someone should tell them. Picking up and vacuuming the apartment is also a one-time activity for Phil and Evan. Cooking is no problem with these two either. Phil eats in the cafeteria and Evan cooks health food on their hot-plate or in the toaster oven. I ' m sure I am safe in saying that Phil and Evan are an exceptional case of bachelor survival at A. PC. Or can you even call it survival? Phil and Evan ' s only real worry would be an unexpected visit from the health department. Evan Lauer and Phil Bravo show off their bachelor pad. They hope to someday be in Home Magazine. k J Yee Kong Ng )odi Nicliolson |ohn Nishimoto Catherine Nixpn Ike Nixon freshman Sophomore Freshman Freshman Freshman ... f Linda Norton Sophomore Lisa Nutter Freshman Amos Nwokenna Crad Charity Nwokenna Freshman lohn K.
