Homecoming Activities Promote School Spirit Sock hops, greaser, Richies, Betty Lou ' s, Urban cowboys cowgirls, wild west band, nurds, and Pecos Bill ' s all made their appearance during Homecoming Spirit week. Some of the activities during 50 ' s day included car stuffing, car rally, broom hockey, and a dress-up contest. Somehow 13 students crammed into a Volkswagon. Some of the win- ners during the 50 ' s dress-up day included Tim Oates for the best Richie , and Cathy Shull was the best Betty Lou, the best greaser was Dave Johnson. Events during Western day were a Horse contest, rodeo, almost any- thing goes, and a hayride. During the rodeo ASB chal- lenged all the living areas and were victorious. All in all, it was a wild and crazy week which culminated with Les Femmes banquet on Friday night and the football game against University of San Diego on Saturday. During Homecoming vveeli most people are more interested In dressing up than going to classes. Maria Huckaba accepts a ride on Steve Brown ' s horse and suggests they go tor a ride around campus. I DENT LIFE 1. Pete Albright is seen donating his pint to the Red Cross. The men of Clarinda donated the most and were rewarded by a showing of the movie Dracula. 2. Displaying the many uses of toilet paper are Greg Grandell and Phil Bravo. Rolling peo- ple in tissue was a popular Homecoming activity. 3. Signing off from the Dating Came are con- testants Eric LeMasters, Shelly Bogard, Teri Larson, |oe Alvarez, Melanie Ferman and announcer Matt Burch. The winners were chauffeured to McDonald ' s to enjoy the Big Mac Supper Club. 4. It is an APC ritual and tradition that on a students birthday they are entitled to 1 free swim in the pond.
