The atmosphere is comfortable and the personnel are friendly, concerned and very helpful! The center offers many student services, including Academic Advising, full and part-time job placement, a career library and woik-study jobs. They offer counseling for individuals, premarital and marital coun- seling, and group counseling. Career Exploration includes the use of a resource library, career counseling, and instructional services such as seminars and workshops. They even offer a 3-unit course called Life Planning and Career Exploration. The Personal and Career Counseling Cen- ter has something for everyone — they are there to help students! The Rising Cost of Texts Every new semester brings the familiar ritual we all know as buying our books. For some unknown reason, new classes require new text books. This ritual, though quite necessary, is increasingly unpopular. It is frequently avoided whenever possible by finding someone who has the book we need and borrowing it instead of buying it. However, when that proves to be unsuccessful, we end up, with all the others, at the book store! The only thing more frightening than the seemingly endless line at the cash reg- ister, is the price of the books printed on the inside cover.
