J =- — i — , Dr. Earnest Boyer Graduation Speaker I- Commencement 1981 Commencement Exercises were held on May 2, 1981, in the parking lot of Azusa Pacific College. The graduation speaker was Dr. Ernest L. Boyer. Dr. Boyer is President of the Carnegie Foun- dation for the Advancement of Teach- ing. Music was provided by the jazz band and Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Gary Bonner. The Class of 1981 had received many honors. 15 students had been named Who ' s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. 47 students received honors including Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Cum Laude and Alpha Chi. Its athletic teams had strived to excel. Many had received National Honors. Coach Hamlow was named to the NAIA Hall of Fame after receiving his 500th win in his Basketball Coaching career. It was clear that the Class of 1981 ' s achievements would not stop at Azusa Pacific but continue on to touch the lives of many others. )lm Rubstello and Brad Sago lead the procession of graduates. It is an APC tradition that the base- ball team lead the procession. 1981 graduates take time to reflect and think about their future during Convocation ceremony. It was held Satur- day, May 2.
