These people participated in a variety of activities. They com- peted for national titles, school records and individual rewards. However, the most important thing was not whether they won or lost on the field or the court because this was irrelevant. They would all be winners in the end as a result of knowing Christ as their personal savior. If they could change one opponent ' s life while competing, their season was a suc- cess Perhaps the one thing that is more prevalent than anything else is the closeness. Not just between the students, but this expands to the faculty and administration. It is this unity that has made Azusa Pacific into the school that it is. It is indeed A SPECIAL PLACE. 3. S , -V;! »■ J- •i ' nnV: STUDENT LIFE STUDENT LIFE SI Students had more than studying on their minds when classes ended in the afternoon. Activity participation was at an all time high. ASB spon- sored movies on every second Friday of the month. Academy Award win- ners, Kramer vs Kramer, The Wiz, Breaking Away and The Muppets were just a few of the features. Athletic events were another big attraction. The teams made a special point to support each other in attendance whenever possible. Cram nights during finals gave stu- dents the opportunity to study together or relieve tension by playing free pool and ping pong from 10:00 to 2:00 a.m. Formal banquets, Les Femmes and Spring Thing, provided great atmos- pheres for dates. Although many were reluctant at first to ask someone of the opposite sex, once they got there, a good time was had by all. Clarinda and Adams had fund raisers of their own. Car washes, a dating game, blood drives and late night broom hockey games were just a few. The Yearbook Staff sponsored the first annual Donkey Basketball Game. Representatives from all organiza- tions on campus united to play the faculty, administration and staff. Probably the most popular activity of all was the Late Night run to Fos- ter ' s Donuts. After all, where else in Azusa could you meet all your friends at 3:00 a.m.? 1r Divider Page U Activities
