This came to $140 a year or for four years $560. When multiplied by 1000 students for four years this came to $560,000. For the international students calling home was a treat. Fastest Fingers in the West Did you see what she just said? With a combination of gestures, hand motions, and facial expressions, senior Ruth Howell communicates each day with countless deaf people. Busy completing her double-major (Bib- lical Literature and Theology) and interpreting services at Granada Heights Friends Church in La Mirada. Ruth finds it hard to believe that it was bore- dom that sparked her interest in learning sign language. I was bored, so I joined a sign language class at church. That marked the beginning of Ruth ' s ministry to the deaf. Ruth credits her uncanny ability to C od. Her talent in signing, however, takes a back seat to Ruth ' s pri- mary goal to minister to people of all kinds, not just to deaf people. ,Hm J atialiuxa. Irjrj Seniors AJL People
