The Helpers There are two clubs on campus whose primary concern is people and how to help them. They are SWAT (Social Workers in Action) and SNAP (Student Nurses of Azusa Pacific). As part of their graduation requirement these groups donate countless hours of service to people to the community. As if a student nurses ' schedule isn ' t difficult enough they are required to donate countless hours in neighboring hospitals for training. Often these student nurses go unnoticed for the simple reason they are work- ing and you never see them. The same with the Social Workers they too are giving service often unnoticed. Although the fruits of their works often go unseen the work they are doing for the community is greatly appreci- ated. Social Workers Nursing ' |A ' Organizations ■ vf»J

John Hart (Assistant Editor) poses outside the Yearbook Office with Mel- issa Shippey (Editor-in-Chief). Yearbook Strives for Uniqueness, The 1981 Yearbook Staff set out at the beginning of the year to make this book better than any book in the history of the school. Some of the changes that were made were discontinuing roommate pictures in the class section. Instead, under the direction of Section Editor Rhea Davis mug shots were used, highlighted by feature stories. Another change that was made was the improvement of sports coverage. Ron Frank saw that more games were cov- ered and that better copy was written to describe the sea- son. Kim Oakley oversaw the Activities section and tried to cover some unique aspects of life at Camp Azusa. Rich Cline worked on the Organizations section to increase club coverage. The entire staff tried to make their copy as exciting and interesting as possible. But most of all under the direction of Melissa Shippey and John Hart the staff tried to cover every aspect of college life, and show why Azusa Pacific is A SPECIAL PLACE. ,mi-r ' m m « v« Yearbook Staff.
