1 979 COUGAR HARRIER9 Azusa Pacific distance teams have been such a dominant force in NAIA District III track and cross country circles that fans have come to expect excellence (Out of the last five seasons the AP Harriers have won three district championships and have received the runner-up trophy once) This was to be runner-up year. Minus some all-Americans who were with the 1 979 team and would later rejoin the distance squad for the 1 980 track season, the team hung in there for a very successful sea- son. Led by Missouri junior, Greg Lover- camp, the team had little trouble with West- mont, Biola, and Los Angeles Baptist to earn the California Christian College Athletic Conference runner-up trophy behind Point Loma. District III competition was a replay of the conference with AP edging out a stub- born California Lutheran Club for another runner-up place. CROSS COUNTRY HONORS Greg Lovercamp, junior. Sedaha.
