SOCCER REACHES FINALS The soccer team advanced to the NAIA District III finals for the first time m their eight year history, after reach- ing the semi-finals in 1 978. The Cougars finished with a 1 2-9 record 96-2 in NAIA League play and captured third place in the Viking ClassiC- Captain Valmir Fernandes led the team in scoring with 1 3 points, minutes played 1 900 and assists, with seven. Leading goal scorers were freshman Sam Ivlir- anda and Kojo Asamoah, with nine and Kwaku Owusu- Anash with eight. Kwaku became the school ' s all-time leading scorer with the winning goal in overtime against Biola in the District semi-final game.
