With the return of only a few of last year's Lettermen and a sparse turnout for the team, the Varsity Track started off slowly with an early-season loss to Live Oak, 81-55. Nevertheless, the Trojan har- riers bounced back to rebuild an excellent squad. Some of the excep- tional runners were Sam Shull, who competed in the 100-yd. and 220-yd. runs, 180 low hurdles, and the high jump. Paul Sanchez, who placed well in the 880-yd. run and thc triple jump, with Alex Bebout who also placed well in the 220-yd. run. Behind thc excellent per- formances turned in by Trojans were the constant hard work and dedication of Coaches Burns, Nava, and Stocfel to make the track team one of the better squads in thc M.H.A.l..
