GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY
Dedicated to the Ninth Graders of Aycock Jr. High
1975-76
When I think of the times I walked down Aycock's halls,
Seeing the carvings and engravings written upon the wall,
Hearing the teachers, voices, asking where you've been,
Only to turn around and hear the same thing again,
Listening to the morning announcements over the P.A.,
Waiting for the 2:30 bell to end another day,
Knowing that this was the time when all were carefree,
Jolly and as happy as anyone could beg
Thus the year is over and the fun has come to an end,
It's time to get in the mood and begin a new trend,
From all the Ninth Graders of Aycock to those of you today,
So long, farewell, goodbye to yesterday.
