czccalcmzeate The Baccalaureate service was held on May 8 at the Bethany Lutheran Church The service was begun by Rev john Warning offering the scripture and invocation Dr A J johnson gave a very inspiring sermon entitled Life to the Glory of God The benediction was given by Rev John Warning The baccalaureate choir sang two appropriate selections and closed the service with the Benediction Miss Sharilyn Lindgren played the processional and the recessional ammeacemeat' Commencement was held May ll in the school auditorium The principal speaker was Dr Samual Dahl Dean of Nebraska Wesleyan Universi-ty and former graduate of ing comparisons between the school from which he graduated and the present school system jack Nyquist winner of the University of Nebraska Regents scholarship gave the salutatorian address entitled Looking Back The valedictory address entitled Looking Forward was given by Allan Berggren winner of the Nebraska Church College scholarship Principal Robert Chapman presented the class of 1955 and Mr Lee Wells school board president presented the diplomas to the twenty graduates Other awards presented included the presentation of the State Teachers College scholarship to Charles Stowers The invocation and benediction were given by Rev Clifford Emery The senior clarinet quintette and the senior girls trio furnished special music for the evening The Axtell High School Band played the processional and the recessional - , . .
