FRONT ROW: Jim Fitzgerald, Frank Forencich, Doug Herfurth, Shawn Stanbury, Randy Tom. Dave McGiven, Glen Yasaki, Coach: Bob Lee Under the aegis of Coach Robert E. Lee the varsity water polo team spent two thirds of last summer practicing at Foothill College and participating in various tournaments. The summer season was ended with a five day trip to Hawaii, where water polo, among other things, was played, This season Awalt found itself in one of the most competitive leagues in California. Until the last game of the season Awalt was in strong contention for a berth in the Northern California Tournament. Unfortunately the key game against Buchser was lost and the team was unable to push on, finishing the season with a 7-4 record. Standouts: The Whole Team Outstanding standouts: Craig VanZandt, Rusty Bumstead, BuffCvreider, Frank Forencich and a host of others. ......,..
