It was not until the fourth game that they showed the strength and depth which was to carry them to the most victorious season a Junior Varstiy team has seen at Awalt. Behind 20-0 in the fourth quarter, Awalt rallied to tie Homestead 20- 20. Atter more wins, the team played their best game against Los Altos, defeating their arch-rivals with a score of 30-14. In their bid for the S.C.V.A.L. title against Cupertino, the Spartans fell short, but returned in their finale to down Buscher and retain their second place standing.
