Boar 5 ilaeah jestthal Srlence pervaded the medreval hall not a sound was to be heard More than two hundred guests strrred uneasrly rn therr seats Suddenly torch bearers were seen rn the center arsle bear rng precrous lrght Therr appearance on the scene coupled wrth the fanfare of trumpets gave notrce that the Boar s Head Festrx al was once agarn rn progress The pester then formally welcomed all those present whrch was but one of hrs tasks as rt was hrs assrgnment to assure the proper func tronrng of the festrvrtres as well as to provrde no small measure of rollrckrng good fun wrth hrs gay antrcs and pranks The hall lrghted the pageant contrnued wrth The Adorarron of the Vrrgrn Mary wrth three students portrayrng the Magr of the East To complete the tableau varrous members of the Senror Class were cast as pages shepherds and the lrke Thrs strrrrng scene drawrng to a close all attentron turned to more earthly thoughts namely the servrng of the frrst course of the banquet The rnterrm between courses was skrll fully breached wrth all the confreres present Jorn mg rn song The musrcal end of the actrvrtres proved most enjoyable and no small amount of crcdrt was due Mr Grove and the members of hrs musrcal aggregatron The marn course brought wrth rt the center mg of attentron upon the Lord and Lady of the Hall as well as therr guests Srr Lorn of Beef and hrs Lady In addrtron all eyes were drawn to the garly arrayed Boar s Head wrth all the trrmmrngs Though the Boar s Head was rn realrty a paprer mache model no one dared to utter thrs fact as to do so would be to remove all of the fun Topprng off the feast was a luscrous dessert of plum puddrng Then followed another hrghlrght he arrrval of Srr Chrrstmas portrayed as rn years p rst by Dr Mrtchell He toted a bag of goodres whrch he readrly scattered wrth the able assrst ance of hrs nrmble sprrtes All good thrngs must come to an end and thus the memorable occasron sadly drew to a close But one more song was rn order and all jorned hands rn srngrng Auld Lang Syne Cer trrnly all thanks are due Mr Prerpont and Mr Grove and therr crews for brrngrng to Avon some scnse of the true Chrrstmas sprrrt 7 5 - 3 D . , . . 7 . .
