First Row Cleft to rightj Wyatt Proctor Henschel C Reese Seated fleft to rightb Alves Merrill McLauglin Aird Third Row Cleft to rightj Stxllgebauer T Browne Hawley C Robinson Skemp Seidel Miller Costello Black Antolmi DORM MONITORS At most preparatory schools it is customary that disciplinary problems arising in the course of dormi tory and school life fall under the jurisdiction of an students who have demonstrated an awareness of cer tain responsibilities are entrusted with the care and well being of their fellows Usually juniors or seniors the monitors are selected by the student council on this basis as well as for their deep rooted sense of honor Specifically the monitors duties are to uphold and enforce the Code of Ordinances This entails making a daily inspection of rooms sitting at the head of din ing room tables taking chapel attendance accounting for the students at bed check and maintaining order in the dorms and on campus at all times They thus Monitors are not totally unrewarded for their efforts they have unlimited late lights are exempt from wait ing at meals and live in the choicest dorm rooms This year Avon has been lucky as the monitors have ex celled in leadership and have controlled the dorm with great spirit They have handled their responsibilities well and it is only hoped that next year they will do as fine a job 1 , ' , ' , ' , , ' a . x I - , . . ever-present, dominant faculty.
