When first I saw the light Behind your eyes I saw you struggle, as a star, From darkness, coming into view. Then I saw one constant beam Warmly burned a sudden light, and As the star is risen through Its ageless years, All time's immortal faith Flared forth in you. T0 THE You shall never leave here wholly. You will be a thought remembered-- A hoped-for dream. You will be a silence or an echo Softly played across the room. You will be all the question And all the answer. You will be a shadow, a voice Heard in the mind. You will be the link of friendship And the bond of memory. You will be All the laughter, still not sounded, All the joy, all the hurt All the victory and defeat The unborn shouts And the still unshed tears . You will be the future and the past. You will be all you leave behind For others to discover And live And begin again. l93l .... - ::5....... ....... A A. - - - ---n1i--'-'- CLASS OF I965 by Mrs. Janet B Kollmar The band plays. .
