ETHEL MAE STARING -- "ETH" j 4
Class History 1411 Plays 1313 Minstrel 1213 Art Editor
of Avocan141. I
Ethel is onc of the mcst studious and earnest of the
Senior Class representing Wallace.
We often times read in the paper of Miss Staring and her
friend spending Sunday with her future relatives, - al-
though it is never printed that way - we just surmise it.
She carries a Scotch dictionary around with her with a
bookmark at the word "Ken". It appears to be her fav-
orite word, but why, we just can't make out.
We know whatever Ethel attempts in the future will be
succ: ss? ul.
MILO SICK ---- "ML"
f Athletic Association, 13, 41, Baseball, 13, 41, Plays, 13, 41
Speaking Contest, 141, Lincoln Essay Contest 141.
"Then here's to the jolly bachelor's life,
And may he live till he takes a wife."
Although Milo talks to us of everything except his love
affairs, yet just the same we know that he does appreciate
a lift to Howard, quite often. It is strange, too, that when-
ever the orchestra plays, Milo is very attentive. We wonder
why? Milo is the class comedian, he entertains us from
eight till nine every morning. Putting all these things o.-
side, however, Milo is an earnest, hard working student. His
pranks are limited to time outside of school hours. We
feel confident that Milo will make a good business man and
'perhaps have a chain of "Sick Hardware Stores" -Who

ager of Advertising of Avocan.
"A Light Heart Lives Long"
Though we scarcely ever hear from Thelma 1outside of
classss3 we know she might tell us a lot if she only would.
For instance, she has never told us, - but we know some-
where there in a certain lucky young many lucky because
he is in the good graces of Thelma. All love affairs aside,
we find Thelma to be a very brilliant student, as well as a
fine basketball player. Had it not been for our excellent
guard, our team would not have been able to wLths3zJ.'.1.'.l
so many superior squads.
We grieve to lose Thelma but we do not want to be self-
ish, we wlsh her all kinds of good luck and happiness in her
MARJORIE ROSE STRYKER --- "MARGE"
Athletic Association 12, 335 Basketball 13. 43 3 Min-
strel 123g Literary Editor of Avocang Class Willg
Treasurer of Senior Class.
"Keep your temper, no one else wants it."
Marjorie is the talented speaker of the Senior Class.
Haven't you ever been in an audience when a young lady
stepped on to the stage and spoke in such a manner that
you laughed until your sides ached? That was "Marge."
She has done a lot for the girls' basketball team in the
past two years. She is a real fighter and never gives in.
This ought to be a little advice to her boy friends. It shows
who will be boss when she gets married. Although we are
going to miss her, we are glad she has been so successful
and we hope her success may continue.

Basketball 13, 433 Baseball 1343, President, Senior
Class: Athletic Editor of Avocang Speaking Contest
139, Plays 13, 433 Minstrel 123.
"All is fair in love and war"
Charles is an excellent student and has found laurels in
baseball and basketball where he will be greatly missed by
members of the athletic teams. Charles has one peculiarity,
which is walking very slow, but it is interesting to know that
ALBERT EDSON FRENCH --- "ALB" -- HFRENCI-IIE"
Athletic Association 1373 Basketball 1413 Baseball
13, 433 Vice President of Senior Classg Salutatoriang
Class Pesslmist.. Q
When Albert is spoken of we always think of our basket-
ball "Frenchie" faithfullv guarding his opponent and just
as faithfully chewing gum. We certainly hand it to "Fren-
chie" for doing h's bit towards winning the game. We feel
sure that he wlll shine on the baseball field because when
the crawl yells "Stryker out", he will solemnly refuse to be
struck cut. If Avoca had :1 debating team Albert would be
one of the leaders, 1just ask one of the teachers, they knowl.
Albert is a very good student and will be missed by all when
he leaves to enter a greater field and begin a greater work.
he can move exceptionally fast when he wishes. Perhaps
the close friendship that exists between Charles and Flor-
ence may nct be so serious after all. Who knows?

You need .no introduction to this bright looking young
lady for she has already introduced herself. We can always
tell her walk in the corridcrs and also in the study hall, for
her entrance is like the west wind in spring when the win-
