Q T IS probably true that most of the high school graduates in the country can hardly in later years recall what were the newspaper headlines when they were students in school. This will not be the case with the graduates of 1945. Indelibly impressed on their minds and associated with their senior year will be the big news-lines of this eventful time . . . World War II carried forward to Victory . . . The death of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt . . . The San Francisco World Security Conference . . . And hardly a graduate who will not have been touched in the most personal, inti- mate way by the stark tragedy of war ..., t hrough loss of brother or friend or through return of someone sick or badly wounded. And yet it has been the task of all of us at Austin High this year to carry on in as nearly normal ways as possible. So this year, too, has been a happy and active year at school and will be looked back upon for friendships and activities and work well done.
