I-lotmeister, Qpitler, Snively, THIRD ROW: Wierson, Peterson, Burns, Eaton, Mumford, McVey, Ring. FOURTH ROW: Dandliker, Hagland, Welch, Dunnett, Stump, Cleve, Olson, Ritter. FIFTH ROW: Gish, Ramsey, Petzing, Fcddersen, Miller, Ernst, Dodge. FAC U LTY Miss Gladish is at the head ot the household arts department. The subjects ottered are cooking, sewing, and home management. The boys' technical department tunctions under the care of Mr. Jelinek. The technical courses open the field to various drawing classes, woodshop, electric shop, machine shop, automobile shop, carpentry, printing, torge, toundry, and pattern making. Miss Hot- meister and Mr. Stettens are the heads ot the physical education department. Miss Lloyd heads the music department. Students interested in music may avail themselves ot the opportunities otlered in the music appreciation courses, boys' and girls' glee clubs, mixed glee, opera club, boys' and girls' bands, jazz orchestras, and concert orchestra. The art department is supervised by Miss Chenoweth. Art classes in interior decoration are otlered to the talented students. Those students who distinguish themselves in art courses are appointed to the iournalistic art statt, which does the art work tor the Annual. FACULTY FIRST ROW: Mead, Stott, Baum, Stubblefield, Dahl, Dixon. SECOND ROW: Estvad, Hansen, Davis, Beniamin, Hauerin, Sweeney, Burnap. THIRD ROW: Lutters, Couvins, Current, Breese, Charles, Angier, FOURTH ROW: Lee, Fouts, Wareham, Catt, Songuist, Myers, Culbertson. FIFTH ROW: Alexander, Ballew, Akers, Torin, Bryan.

FAC U LTY The administrative stati ot the Austin High School is composed ot two hundred and thirty-tour teachers under the supervision ot thirteen department chairmen. Miss Zimmerman and Miss Cox are chairmen ot the English department. ln addition to the required English classes, courses are ottered in iournalism, public speaking, American literature, and dramatics, The mathematics department, supervised by Mr. Spitler, otters classes in tirst year algebra, advanced algebra, college algebra, plane geometry, solid geometry, and trigonometry. Mr. Nelson is at the head ot the language department. Leading the science department is Mr. Harris who is supervisor ot the classes in general science, botany, Zoology, physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, and geology. Mr. Bollinger holds the posi- tion ot chairman ot the social science department. The commercial department is controlled by Mr. Ritter. Courses are otiered in typing, bookkeeping, clerical practice, tiling, calculating. FAC U LTY FIRST ROW: Larm, Chiaro, Brizzolara, Broderick, Older, Maher.
