Paint The “A” Day Painting the “A” has been the job of the Freshmen for many years at Aus- tin. The Seniors take on the solemn duty of supervising the pulling of weeds and applying of white wash to the “A” by the Freshman class. The Freshmen are always excited to see this day arrive! Often they are so anxious to begin that they don’t even wait for a ride up the hill, instead they run up the hill in their zeal to begin. When the job is done to everyones satisfaction you can usually see the Freshmen giving thanks that they had the privilege of providing this service to their school. The PTA Halloween Carnival was a roaring success. Each class participated in some way. The 7th grade had the jail, the 8th grade sold chorizo’s. The Freshmen had a food booth. The Sophomores had the haunted house, the Juniors had the cake walk and the Seniors had a pie eating contest. Each elementary room set up games. It seemed like most of Austin turned out to enjoy the festivities of the evening. The fun ended with the pie eating contest, won by Bobby Helming. Above: The pie eating contest. Senior Class JOE DORY Goals: Become a circus clown or maybe a sumo wrestler. No really, I just want to graduate, then become rich, famous and stuck up. Activities: JV Basketball 1,2; Varsity Basketball 3,4; Student Body VP 4; Water Polo 2,3 BRONWEN EARNSHAW Goals: My goal is to become very rich and to pay somebody else to do my taxes. ROBERT GRIMES Goals: I would like to graduate from high school this year. Also I would like to own a Convertible Calloway Corvette. I want to own the Budweiser Corporation.
