From brush to flowers, From houses to towers, From good to bad, And happy to sad. We all have differences that stand in our way, But you shouldn't let them determine what you say. (Not to your friends or to anyone. ) (Lana) Night with all your darkness I welcome thee, Come and relieve me of this emptiness. Life is too hard for the living, Much less for the people in love. Words can never express what is felt, they are too evasive. Touch alone can tell, if only it could escape the wall: The wall created by senseless words. I am living in an oblivion, There is no beauty in what I perceive. Once I felt as light as a breeze, but that was before I gained this burden The burden of being too free. Emotions only betray - so beware. Be wary of their snare. Yesterday held a promise there was comfort in knowing who you were. Today a restlessness is growing, what has happened? can it be amended? Tomorrow holds uncertainty. We had become two. We were going home- but in different directions, toward different worlds. The whisper of the breeze and the sweet smell of dew, tell us of a season change, to a spring that's new. But then come the people - pollution, smog and noise, People rushing about the streets and raising their loud voice. Then you start to wonder, when will it all end? The pollution, smog and noise. (Lana)

A view of Silence and Darkness from under a mushroom is al- ways different to people - Noise is actually a relief when you can't see or hear anything out of the pitch black and silent picture. This poem tells what the view is like and how the coming of dawn and morning is special. I looked out from under the mushroom The darkened picture remained still, A drop of dew hit my nose Suddenly, I felt a chill. I was hoping for a noise or two To make everything seem alive, But somehow in my heart I knew That none would ever arrive. Striking fear crept over me I suddenly felt scared, I wanted to get out and see But I knew I didn't dare. Anger rose, as I cried, Silence and Darkness leave this place! I came out, I could no longer hide, It was something I couldn't face. But still I didn't hear a sound And there was nothing I could see, Then I looked all around, And then quite suddenly. . . The sound of dawn was actually here The morning was on it's way. I wanted to shout and to cheer, It's going to be a beautiful day! The birds were in all the trees Singing and chirping away, Nobody had a care in the world (not even the butterflies and bees) I was glad for this day. This day is going to be beautiful and bright Neither with crime nor with violence. I continued to think of that terrible night, But I could wait for the Darkness and Silence. (Michele) No one is a stranger--- Just a friend you haven't met. (Lana) Because I want to at least have to be 16-because that's supposed to be the funniest time of your life. (Ben) 28

Snow is white, deep, slick. Snow can be icy, flaky. Snow is exciting. Motorcycles Rides, climbs, pops the wheels, dangerous, excitable, it's fun, You can jump. (Ted) 'The yellow flowers are waving in the sunshine now the day has gone. Zero, scary, alone added to numbers not much of anything, unhappy. The golden goldfish swimming in the blue water swims around the rocks. The salty blue sea like a giant swimming pool over the soft sand. (Neil) Spring is a season Fall and Summer are nicest Winter is coldest. The circus is nice the clowns are funny people they have big noses. A mustang is free he's wild and full of beauty he runs like the wind. (Clay) 30
