A view of Silence and Darkness from under a mushroom is al- ways different to people - Noise is actually a relief when you can't see or hear anything out of the pitch black and silent picture. This poem tells what the view is like and how the coming of dawn and morning is special. I looked out from under the mushroom The darkened picture remained still, A drop of dew hit my nose Suddenly, I felt a chill. I was hoping for a noise or two To make everything seem alive, But somehow in my heart I knew That none would ever arrive. Striking fear crept over me I suddenly felt scared, I wanted to get out and see But I knew I didn't dare. Anger rose, as I cried, Silence and Darkness leave this place! I came out, I could no longer hide, It was something I couldn't face. But still I didn't hear a sound And there was nothing I could see, Then I looked all around, And then quite suddenly. . . The sound of dawn was actually here The morning was on it's way. I wanted to shout and to cheer, It's going to be a beautiful day! The birds were in all the trees Singing and chirping away, Nobody had a care in the world (not even the butterflies and bees) I was glad for this day. This day is going to be beautiful and bright Neither with crime nor with violence. I continued to think of that terrible night, But I could wait for the Darkness and Silence.
