STUDENT BODY OFFICERS Standing: Darla Winrod, Clerk of Elections; Jennifer Dory, Secretary-Treasurer. Seated: Gary Bennett, President; Billy Brandt, Vice President S.B.PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE This year we have made great progress in our Student Body and Student Council. The leaders elec- ted by the students to represent them in the Student Council have performed their duties well. Attitudes of awareness by schools throughout the state toward Austin have changed. The best exam- ple of this is the election of Austin as the Secretary School of the Northern Nevada Student Councils (NNSC) for the spring session meeting of next year. The learning atmosphere has improved as displayed with the work completed on the school and I feel that it will continue with the forthcoming improvements. With the influence of new teachers there has been an increase in the concern for the students. Aust- in has increased in nearly all levels of academics and athletics. I am glad that I have been associated with these teachers and students. What we do in school is an important factor in the rest of our lives and I have come to realize this. The size of this school is quite beneficial to the students in many ways, especially in the individual attention they receive. I would like to thank the teachers and students for making this year one of the best. 6
