In competitive games nothing can be accomplished without it. The same thing holds true in your school work and in your life after school. If you do not develop the will to win, to strive, to succeed, opportunity never comes. In this atomic asre the old saying, All things come to him who waits , is out-dated. We must set a worthwhile goal and develop the will, the determination, to achieve it. My best wishes go with you for success in your chosen field. After basketball season Larry Clayton transferred to Fallon. Philip Tresner moved in from California in October. During the year Stanley Hooper, Bruno Potts, and Larry Clayton played basketball. Stanley was captain of the team. Roger Berg was manager of the basketball team. Dawn Bruce and Claudia Givens were cheerleaders. Dawn was class president and Claudia was class representive. Wins over Lund and McDermitt, an overtime defeat at the hands of champion Eureka, and an eight point loss to defending state title holder,Battle Mountain provided the highlights of the past season. The Blue and Silver were coached by Rod Smith and led by the high scoring of captain Stan Hoooer, (171 pts.) and freshman ?uard Tony Manzini, (l1?1? ots.) Over-night trips included the playing of Whittell High School at Lake Tahoe and a two-day journey to Alamo in the southern section of the state. The team traveled over 2,500 miles and ended the season by running out of gas only eight miles from Carlin. The entire Bronco squad was composed of freshmen and sonho- mores. With this year's experience behind them, they should prove even better players in their junior and senior years ahead. Manzini and Hooper earned the outstanding-player awards while Larry Clayton captured the most-improved player title. Lettermen included Dave Fields, Dennis Cox, Stan Hooper, Larry Clayton, Daniel Cox, and Tony Manzini oCettermen This year there were three Block A members back from last year: John Aria, Stanley Hooper, and Bruno Potts. John Aria moved away after a few months. That left Stanley Hooper as president and 3runo Potts the only member. Larry Clayton, David Fields, and Tony Manzini are new members. These three have participated in all of the Block AM activities and will make a good nucleus for next year. The Block A raised forty-two dollars on a turkey raffle.
