In the fall of 1958, five freshmen entered Austin High School, They were B arbara Saralegui, Frankie Hathis, Gary Corradini, John Aria, and Alleen Dory, During our Freshman year, John and Gary both participated in Block A , basketball,and'baseball, Frankie, Barbara and Alleen were members of G .A0Ae and also played on the volley- ball team. All of the Freshmen took part in the one-act plays presented. All three of the girls were members of the Merit Society, The class was represented on the student council by Alleen Dory,, As Gary moved to Arizona during the summer after our Freshman year, we began our Sophomore year with only one boy and three girls. In October, Frankie transferred to Davis, California leaving only three sophomores, John took part in basketball and Block A , was sergeant- at-arms of the student body, and was also president of the Sophomore class, Barbarara served as president of the G. A. A., cheerleader, and was also Sophomore class secretary-treasurer, Alleen was treasurer of G.A.A., secretary-treasurer of the student body, cheerleader, and Sophomore class representative. We are looking forward to our next two years at A, H, S. and plan to continue an active participation in school events .
