Xlies QJOQLIQI and chorus Physical Education Music No matter what time of the school day one happens to be walking through the building, he is likely to hear one of the many music groups practicing. Students in all the different musical organizations also have sectional rehearsals each week to work out the difficult spots in their scores They are excused from classes for about thirty minutes for these special rehearsals Time is rotat d so that thc same class will be missed only once in five wecks Concerts and music for athletic contests are the chief pro grams for which new selections are learned Highlights of the musical year are the music festival and music contests both held in tht spring Physical Education Physical education plays an important part in the high school curriculum Grades seven through tcn have classes KWICL cach week and sophomorcs also have a first aid class one hour ptr week The boys physical education classes cover all sports in general During the fall season the boys go to the athletic field for football when the weather permits and stay in to play volleyball when it rains The indoor winter sports are swim ming tumbling wrestling basketball and boxing When spring arrives they go again to the field to play baseball The girls gym course is primarily the same as the boys though less strenuous Emphasis is placed on volleyball swim ming basketball softball tumbling ping pong folk dancing and Music ll VI KS X im 'Ali lb ll 'Vllii PYIRICIX llx 3 X MISS MXRX ll-I WII LIXMS B A g m C FXCI- SCH!-RR B 9 r g K SI FRX1 B A bind NllSS NIORENE 'VHRSHAII M M stings 'HRS AGNES SJOQUIST mug tr n our M socn mu c 1 l I 4 I 1 I 3 . - A ' 1 ' ' .. 5 , Y . . . .
