S., Miami University, Ohio ALBERT PORTER B. A., Franklin College M. A., University of Cincinnati Guidance counseling includes the explaining of the Kuder Preference Tests as Mr. Porter is doing for Mary Lane above. Mr. Cairns, our business law and geography teacher, is a rabid science fiction fan. He also likes to raise flowers and travel. Mr. Hickman, athletic director at Aurora High, coaches our varsity basketball team and teaches U. S. history and civics. He enjoys sports in his spare time and sells insurance in the summer. Mr. Lyon, besides teaching citizenship and world history, has completed half of the work necessary for an M. A. He has been to Las Vegas and has seen the Grand Canyon by air. Mr. Porter, assistant principal and guidance counselor, has been in Australia, Canada. Mexico, and forty states. Every Friday, Mr. Hudson's civics class discusses current events. Ruby Adams and Dennis Elder are debating under Mr. Hudson's direction on present world issues of importance [ 23 ]

OUR SCHOOL OFFERS BOOKS Miss Rolf and Student Librarian, Pat Dutt, prepare for another busy day in the library. Miss Rolf, high school librarian and English teacher, has traveled to Europe. Canada, and several parts of the United States. Mrs. Smith, dean of girls and English teacher, spends her leisure hours reading and writing. Mrs. Walser, new Freshman English teacher, has toured Canada, the South, and New England. Mr. Hudson, one of our newer civics and English teachers, toured Europe once (with Uncle Sam) and likes to read, bowl, and play golf. FLORENCE ROLF A. B., Franklin College B. S., Indiana University Mrs. Smith uses the tape recorder to help her Senior English class to improve their speech. [ 22 ]

SCIENCE AND MATH The two chemistry classes have lab experiments with each chapter. The students test hydrogen to find its chemical properties. EUGENE GABBARD A. B., Maryville College M. A., Indiana Central College Mr. Gabbard, Aurora's high school principal, likes to fish and annually takes a trip to Canada or Michigan for this purpose. Mr. Hall, physics and biology teacher, spent twenty-five summers working as a life guard. He has earned an Advanced Certificate in Science and Mathematics. Mr. Rice, our chemistry teacher, spends his spare time collecting stamps, reading historical fiction, and raising flowers. The future of science rests in the hands of today's students? t 24 ]
